Wondering if CrossFit is right for you? Here are three reasons you might like CrossFit:
1. You’re an Athlete
I’m an athlete. I always have been. After I stopped playing sports, I felt like I couldn’t be an athlete anymore. No team, no direction, no goal. Deep down though I knew I was still an athlete. I’ve been lifting since junior high, so a franchise gym full of treadmills, ellipticals, cable weights and elevator music was not going to give me the results my body craved. I needed sweat drenched, weight tossing, music blaring, covered in chalk, throw down kind of workouts. CrossFit was just what I was looking for!
2. You’re competitive
In CrossFit, we compete daily. We compete with ourselves, our box members, and even sometimes multiple boxes across the state or nation. Most athletes say they are only focused on themselves, but the truth is – we all compare numbers on the whiteboard. We smile when we finish first in the Metcon. We get frustrated when a friend beats our time. This is what makes CrossFit unique. We are challenging and competing every day. We aren’t working out. We’re training. Friendly competition is what creates our community.
3. You’re social
We WOD together, hit the floor together, share our PR’s and share our personal struggles. This isn’t a cookie-cutter gym. It’s a family. We celebrate holidays, birthdays, keep up on Facebook, and we cheer each other on at competitions. Joining a CrossFit box is like joining a team. Which team will you choose?
If you’re an athlete, you’re competitive, and you’re social, you’ll love CrossFit.
